Effective date: 21 September 2026 Last updated: 20 October 2026 Version: 2.1
These are the rules for using Gleich. If something here is unclear, email us at info@kesselapps.de and we will explain it in plain words.
Gleich is made and run by:
Kessel Apps UG (haftungsbeschränkt) Blumenstr. 44, 70182 Stuttgart, Germany Amtsgericht Stuttgart, HRB 805482 · represented by Clemens Schwiedessen VAT ID DE463252051 info@kesselapps.de
By using Gleich you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Gleich is an app for iPhone and Android for getting together with people you already know. You make a plan with a place and a time and invite friends with your own link or QR code. Someone who opens your link asks to join, and the host lets them in or declines. Everyone sorts out who brings what, can note what something cost and who settled up, and, on the way, can share their location with the others in the plan so you find each other.
A plan can also be a list, with no place and no time, of things to get. If you allow notifications, Gleich tells a host when someone asks to join and tells you when you are let in.
Gleich is invite-only. There is no public feed, no directory, no search for other people, and no way to find strangers. You see only the plans you made or were let into, and only the people in them.
Gleich is still early. Features may change or disappear, and the service may be interrupted while we work on it.
We do not accept objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Gleich brings people to a place at a time, and that is a reason to be strict.
You may not use Gleich to:
"Content" means anything you type or choose that other people can see: plan titles, places, bring lines and their notes, list items, costs, and your display name.
The automatic word check. Our server refuses swear words, slurs and hate slogans in English, German and French in display names, plan titles and notes. When it refuses one, nothing is saved; you can change the words and try again. A name from Apple or Google that fails the check at sign-in is not used. The check is automatic and does nothing else. Everything else is reviewed by a person (section 5).
You can block anyone in your plans. A block works both ways and in every plan you share: you stop seeing each other's location and bring lines, and each other's entry in the participant list. Both names still appear in the plan's member list. A block between a host and a member ends that membership. Your blocked list is in Settings.
Members can report another member from inside the app, picking one of three reasons. A report goes to Kessel Apps only; the person reported does not see it. Reports are kept for 180 days from the day they are filed, even if either account is deleted, and then deleted.
Anyone, with or without an account, can tell us about illegal content in Gleich by writing to info@kesselapps.de. To let us act, please include:
A person at Kessel Apps reads every report by hand and decides in a timely, careful and objective way. Depending on what we find, we can delete a plan or delete an account. If a report shows a threat to someone's life or safety, we inform the police.
If we delete your plan or your account, we tell you why, where we have a way to reach you: what we decided, the facts we relied on, the rule in these Terms or the law it rests on, and that a person, not an automatic tool, made the decision. You can contest it by writing to info@kesselapps.de: a person looks at the case again and answers you. You can also go to court.
If you believe someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first. We are not an emergency service.
Our single point of contact, for authorities and for everyone using Gleich, is info@kesselapps.de. Write to us in English or German. A person reads and answers every message.
Sharing your location is something you choose, plan by plan.
Share your location with people you actually know, and stop when you are done.
You can note what a bring line cost, who shares it and who has settled up. These are notes and a calculation for your group. Gleich moves no money, takes no card or bank details, and is not a party to what friends owe each other. A "paid" mark only says that two people settled outside the app.
What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to show it to the other people in your plans, which is what makes the app work, and nothing more. We do not sell it and we do not advertise against it.
A plan and everything in it is deleted once both its meeting time and the day it was made are more than 90 days past, or earlier when the host cancels it. Deleting your account deletes your account and the plans you host. Your costs and "paid" marks in other people's plans stay, without your name, so that nobody else's share changes, until that plan is deleted. The Privacy Policy lists everything that stays and for how long.
Gleich is offered as it is. We do our best to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be available, always on time, or free of faults, or that every notification arrives, and a map, a route or an arrival time should never be your only source of truth about where someone is. Directions opens another company's maps app, and the route it shows is that company's.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for intent, gross negligence, or for injury to life, body or health, or any other liability that cannot be limited under German law.
You can delete your account at any time: on your plans list, open Settings, then tap Delete account. Without the app, follow gleich.app/delete-account. It is permanent, and it takes the plans you host with it.
If you break these Terms, in particular section 4, we can delete your plan or your account, as set out in section 5.
We may update these Terms. If we change something that matters, we say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Gleich after a change means you accept the new version.
What changed in version 2.1 (20 October 2026): you must now be at least 18 to use Gleich, not 16 (section 3); everyone in a plan who opens its map can see where a sharing member is, not only the people who share too (section 7); signing out on the phone that shares stops its sharing as well (section 7); a report from the app carries one of three reasons (section 5); list items count as content (section 4).
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in. Place of jurisdiction is Stuttgart, Germany, where the law allows it to be agreed.
